DVM PgC(SAS) MRCVS RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery
Saulius began his veterinary journey in Lithuania, graduating from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in 2013. Shortly after, he moved to Aberdeen, Scotland, where he laid the foundations of his surgical career. He completed a surgical internship at Aberdeen Veterinary Referrals (AVR), where he developed a strong interest in advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures. Over the years, he progressed through the roles of Junior Referral Surgeon and Senior Surgeon, eventually taking on the position of Clinical Director in 2021.
During his time at AVR, Saulius worked closely with general practices across Scotland, building collaborative relationships and supporting the care of shared patients. In 2024, he chose to broaden his experience by working as a locum referral surgeon in multiple specialist centres and providing mobile surgical services directly to local practices. This hands-on approach gave him unique insight into the day-to-day realities of general practice and the value of accessible, high-quality surgical support.
In 2025, Saulius founded NOMAD Surgical Solutions, with the aim of making advanced surgical care more available within the familiar environment of general practices. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery and has been an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery since 2018.
When he’s not in surgery, Saulius enjoys strength training, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and music production. In 2022, he won the European Championship in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. At home, he shares life with two energetic Whippets, Peanut and Freddie, and a Maine Coon cat named Lushiukas.
